CAMPAIGN for METROPOLE ORCHESTRA
Turning 140 character tweets into great music

With Tweetphony, created by Havas Worldwide Amsterdam and Perfect Fools for Amsterdam’s Metropole Orchestra, visitors turned simple 140 character tweets into great music.

When the Metropole Orchestra’s subsidy and existence were under threat, the orchestra tried a whole new approach. Tweetphony is a symphony crafted entirely by tweets based on letters associated with musical notes, submitted via the campaign site using a simple digital piano interface. The orchestra played the selected tweets at the ‘Tweetphony,’ which was held at the MCO in Hilversum on October 26th and streamed live on the Tweetphony site. Visitors could compose their own tweets, and tune in on Friday the 26th to enjoy the symphony in full.
