This past summer Perfect Fools had the pleasure of working on Pro Streets for Converse. Pro Streets was a Europe-wide game that let participants celebrate their local areas by showing off their best moves. These could be anything – dance, skate flips, MC battles – anything that’s an expression of who you are. The moves were captured by special cameras and uploaded as short videos onto the Pro Streets site, where others could support their favorites and check out interesting spots laid out on a map of each city. At the end of the game Converse celebrated the areas with the most incredible talent.
Perfect Fools worked with Anomaly and This Memento on the project, with Perfect Fools being responsible for delivering the technology enabling the experience. This included a unique system of cameras that were activated by the public using text messages, installed in major cities from Naples to Berlin.
During the fall Europe’s youth took to the streets to perform on the Star Chevron logo. Find some of the gems that were uncovered here.
Interactive installation The Canvas Experiment by Perfect Fools for Converse has made yet another end-of-year top list, this time being featured on Creativity’s ‘Best of 2011′ list.
Converse Canvas – the fully-functional digital screen made up of 480 Chuck Taylors – just won three Silvers at the Eurobest Awards, in Promo & Activation, Interactive and Design. Check out a film about the project here.
For Wall to Wall Converse paired top street artists with walls in some of Europe’s most culturally vibrant cities, all in the name of bringing art to the streets.
The project has rolled through Naples, Gent, Lyon, Barcelona and Manchester – where a dockland building, gallery front, nightclub façade and and two massive city murals played canvas to our artists and their creative expression. Check out Jango Jim, Steven Burke, Otone, Hitnes and Faunagraphic performing their amazing wall transformations here:
PF have proposed a panel discussion for next spring’s SXSW conference in Austin, Texas. The panel would explore Converse’s recently launched street art initiative, and feature PF Creative Partner Mark Chalmers, Converse VP of International Marketing Ivan Wicksteed and the internationally acclaimed street artist Ben Eine. Now we need your help to see that we make it there. 30% of the panel selection process is based on public voting, so if you have a minute please stop by the SXSW site here and give us your support. Many thanks from the Fools!
As of Wednesday evening the Fools claimed no fewer than five Lions at this year’s Cannes Festival, including two silvers (in Promo and Design) and a bronze (Cyber) for the Converse Canvas Experiment, as well as silver and bronze for Skittles Updater, produced by PF for TBWA London. Check out all the Cannes news here.
With 800,000 new fans online and successful live trips to Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid and Milan, Converse’s new Canvas robotic shoe screen is off to an awesome start. To celebrate we’ve put together some of the best Canvas clips, including a look behind the scenes as well as shots of the events on the Champs-Elysées and in Mitte.
And a big thanks to our friends at Checkland Kindleysides for helping to bring the Canvas to life and keeping it in good shape at each of the live events.
Canvas, the digital screen built out of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, has been spreading its wings both online and in live events in Berlin and Paris. Here come two new vids showing some of the fun to be had with a giant robotic shoe-wall: repelling alien invaders and playing with your own shadow. Yes, we love our jobs.
